Subject: Invitation to Online Forum: Addressing Concerns Related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Immigrant Families and Deportation

 

We invite you to participate in an important online forum to discuss critical issues impacting your schools. This forum will provide a platform for members to share concerns, ask questions, and engage in open dialogue on the following topics:

  • The Importance of the Board Attorney:
    • Understanding the role and responsibilities of the board attorney in navigating legal complexities related to immigration enforcement.
  • Importance of Training Staff:
      • Immigration laws and policies.
      • Appropriate responses to encounters with immigration authorities.
      • Resources available for immigrant families.
  • Building Security:
    • Addressing concerns regarding building security and protecting all students and staff within the school facilities.
  • Member Concerns:
    • This forum will also provide an opportunity for members to raise any other concerns or questions they may have related to immigrant families and deportation.
